Artist Statement
I am grateful that I am able to express myself through my art, be it graphic design, writing or landscape oil painting.
I love painting en plein air and find unlimited inspiration from the beauty in nature. I paint only in oil because of the richness of color and the flexibility of this medium. My goal is to capture light and atmosphere in every painting while creating a well composed, unique and interesting work of art. I want the viewer to see and feel the beauty and peace that exists in nature.
I have been fortunate to study with some wonderful artists such as the late Frances Weston Hoyt of New London who was a Frank Vincent DuMond student, Gil Perry who has been a great source of inspiration and support, John Traynor and Stapelton Kearns.
